I’m consistently impressed with Toronto based emcee/producer Muneshine. He’s one of those dope-all-around DIY artists that actually reminds me a lot of Classified: Both are double threat producers and emcees, both have a very real-recognize-real ethos and mentality, both sap up that grimy and classic production we all love, and both have worked extremely hard are self-responsible for every inch of their success. I’m actually finding it hard to believe they haven’t worked together yet. Maybe what’s keeping apart is the vast stretch of landscape that lies between them, Mune being a Saskatchewan born-now central Canadaian and Class holding down shop in Enfield, Nova Scotia. Actually, I’d really, really like to see something go down between those two one day. But here in the now, Larger Than Life is a super hype free EP with Vinyl Frontiers with features from Ghettosocks, D-Sisive, Termanology, Timbuktu, The Get By, and the ever dope Rich Kidd. These guys are coming hard in 2011!
