West Coast Brown Bag AllStars affiliate Tranzformer previously appeared on here when the producer dropped off “The One“, which featured killer verses from PIMB-fave Co$$. It turns out that the Left Coast resident released a self-titled album just a week or so later, which I unfortunately missed due to technical issues. But we finally have it here for y’all today — you know, in case you haven’t already heard it. Tranzformer boasts collaborations with Blame One, Sene, Koncept, and many others. Let us know your thoughts and if you’re looking forward to new tunes from this producer as much as we are.

We were introduced to Cali.-based producer Tranzformer this past February when he collaborated with Koncept, of Brown Bag AllStars, on the More Than Meets the Eye EP. And since then, the producer has been working on a free album that’s set to drop….soon, I hope, because its latest leak, “The One”, is ill. It features Potholes favorite Co$$ slangin’ bars over a moody, brooding beat, something that felt more natural in the cooler months but will still get some burn this summer.

Koncept & Tranzformer – More Than Meets The Eye [EP]

It’s an East meets West affair as Brooklyn’s Koncept, of the Brown Bag All Stars, links with California producer Tranzformer for this quick-but-solid EP, More Than Meets the Eye. I get the feeling that what we’re hearing on this project is a teaser for a future full-length. And if it’s not, they’re doing themselves and their fans a disservice because there is definitely some chemistry on these five tracks. If you don’t know either Koncept or Tranzformer…get familiar.

Koncept – “Day Dreaming” prod. Tranzformer

With his pretty damn solid Playing Life project under his belt, Koncept is looking to move forward. And this time, he’s sticking with one producer for his forthcoming EP, which will be entirely backed by Tranzformer beats. If you aren’t familiar with his name, the West Coast producer crafted tracks for some of your favorite underground artists, such as Co$$ and Sene, among others. Tranzformer and Koncept make a great duo here on “Day Dreaming”, a soothing, head-in-the-clouds type of track that also carries a nostalgic feel. And now I’m officially looking forward to their EP, which will be available online for free.
