We dropped Daytona’s short, but sweet Daytona 500 EP a few months ago, but today he drops the long-awaited LP, Come Fly With Me. Let me start by saying that The Kid is not only a premier lyricist, but a top-notch all-around emcee. He is definitely giving a lot of older cats a run for their money in today’s rap game. Not only is he doing it big, but he has some huge cosigns, at it shows from the all-star line-up of guest appearances he has on the album like Bun B, Kardinal Offishall, Amanda Diva, Outasight and more. The production is on-point as well, as the homie 6th Sense handles a large amount of the load, while Cook Classics, The Government, Jet Audio, Ill Bomb and more play smaller roles. Just got this new mixtape from The Kid Daytona in. Let me tell you right off the bat, this kid can spit. The project features production from 6th Sense, Ill Bomb, Double O, Jet Audio, and The Government, using samples entirely from Bobby Caldwell’s Nautilus. You already know what happens when you sample Bobby Caldwell in hip-hop… I don’t even need to get into that. Also got to throw props at the album cover, looks a tribute to the Beastie Boys.
