1. Shyne to be released from prison and possibly deported. Lookout Diddy, Shyne is coming home. The real question is will he deported back to Belize or not.  I don’t like the way P. Diddy did Shyne with different lawyers © Nas
2. The Beastie Boys’ Adam Yauch feels ‘hopeful’ about cancer treatment. After a year full of deaths, we’re happy to report some good news from the Beastie Boys. We’re hoping for a speedy recovery.
3. Jay-Z wins MTV’s Hottest MC of the year, Eminem not included on the top 10 list. MTV sucks, ’nuff said. Seriously, there’s nothing else to say about this without stooping to MTV’s level of shittiness. Read the rest of this entry »

Welcome to the weekly rundown where we (soulsupreme and Marty) provide you with our top ten headlines for the week that was.

1. Jay-Z album artwork and track-listing. The track-listing looks pretty good, but we would have like some more rappers from the R.O.C. instead of G.O.O.D. Music. Where are the J. Cole, Freeway, and/or Beanie features?
2. Lupe Fiasco features for the new LP. The Neptunes and Matthew Santos aren’t surprising, but we’re looking forward to hearing Lupe rock with Kenna and how B.o.B blends with Lu’s style.
3. Mos Def gives the crowd a MJ tribute in Chicago. The King lives on. Mos treats Chicago to a nice Boogie Man version of “Bille Jean”, moonwalk and all. Read the rest of this entry »
