Whether it’s Atmosphere’s post-hangover “Sunshine” or the all too obvious “Summertime” by DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince, some tracks appear tailor made for the summer. These songs are typically filled with laid-back production, which sometimes is heavy on the jazz-tip, and equally mellow rhymes. The latest group to enter this foray is the otherwise mostly abrasive Super Chron Flight Brothers. For “Reggie Miller”, from their upcoming Cape Verde LP, the duo raps about day-to-day life over a smooth beat from none other than Potholes regular Willie Green. It’s going to be a long wait until this album drops on June 22, but this track should hold me (and you) over. I hope.

We’ve tipped you off with a few leaks, and now it is finally here. From the progressive hip-hoppers over at Backwoodz Studioz comes the latest installment in the Super Chron Flight Brothers catalogue, the Deleted Scenes mixtape. While this project is technically under the Super Chron name, almost everyone gets a chance to shine here, whether on the mic or on the production credits. Deleted Scenes is comprised of original content accompanied by remixes and B-Sides. It’s an altogether dope project featuring some banging cinematic-styled production from the likes of Willie Green, AM Breakups, Marmaduke, Bond, and Essex Dogs. Super Chron emcees Billy Woods and Priviledge tackle the majority of bars with vicious lyrics, but they receive assistance from Cannibal Ox, Invizzibl Men, Asaviour and more. Give it a listen and lend us your thoughts. Don’t forget to be on the lookout for the Super Chron full length album, Cape Verde, which will drop in February.

Once again, the people over at Backwoodz continue to push irresistible hard-hitting hip-hop. While awaiting the release of the new Super Chron Flight Brothers mixtape, Deleted Scenes, we give you two fresh tracks to hold you over. There’s not really a whole lot to say about these tracks other than that they absolutely bang, produced by Marmaduke and Willie Green, and they boast some furious lyrics courtesy of verses from Pastense, Cannibal Ox, and Johnny Voltik. The good people at Backwoodz Studioz just sent over the first single from the upcoming mixtape, Deleted Scenes, from Super Chron Flight Brothers. The “Guy Fawkes Remix” features production from the multi-talented Willie Green, and without spoiling anything, let’s just say it packs a punch. The original track appeared on their last full-length, Emergency Powers: The World Tour, back in 2007. Deleted Scenes is scheduled to drop as a free download on November 17, so be sure to look out for that. It will feature brand new tracks, remixes, and rare B-Sides.
