I’m really anticipating the new Clipse album dropping next month. After that we should have De La Soul, Reflection Eternal and The Roots all dropping in early 2010. Maybe its just me, but it seems like we have less groups in hip-hop right now that can have actual success in the underground and mainstream arena. Welcome to the weekly rundown where we (soulsupreme and Marty) provide you with our top ten headlines for the week that was.
- Jay-Z album artwork and track-listing. The track-listing looks pretty good, but we would have like some more rappers from the R.O.C. instead of G.O.O.D. Music. Where are the J. Cole, Freeway, and/or Beanie features?
- Lupe Fiasco features for the new LP. The Neptunes and Matthew Santos aren’t surprising, but we’re looking forward to hearing Lupe rock with Kenna and how B.o.B blends with Lu’s style.
- Mos Def gives the crowd a MJ tribute in Chicago. The King lives on. Mos treats Chicago to a nice Boogie Man version of “Bille Jean”, moonwalk and all. Read the rest of this entry »

- NBA Finals: Lakers win the NBA Championship beating the Magic (4-1) in the series. Kobe Bryant finally wins his 1st NBA title without Shaquille O’Neal. He now has 4 NBA rings. He`s still not likable, but he has proven the doubters wrong.
- Berkley College of Music starts a J Dilla course. In honour of the late great producer, the College has created two hip-hop classes; the Dilla Ensemble and Turntable Techniques so that Jay Dee’s music and legacy continue to be taught to a new generation. Dilla lives forever!
- Slaughterhouse on Itsthereal.com The lastest sketch by the Rosenthal brothers is easily one of the funniest we’ve seen in a while. As Slaughterhouse preps the release of their debut album, the boys shows us their more sensitive side. Read the rest of this entry »

Welcome to the weekly rundown where we (soulsupreme and Marty) provide you with our top ten headlines for the week that was.
- Charles Hamilton names J dilla exec producer for his LP? Jay Smooth summed it up best with his latest vlog: Operation Ignore Charles Hamilton (a must see!)
- Mos Def on Hot97.com issues a friendly challenge. What he’s proposing would be epic, sadly we do doubt that it’ll ever happen.
- Common does a track with The Jonas Brothers? GTFOH Common! Take your SAG card and go make some movies! Read the rest of this entry »

Welcome to the weekly rundown where we (soulsupreme and Marty) provide you with our top ten headlines for the week that was.
- Charles Hamilton gets knocked out by a female? Sonicboom! Sonic lost all his rings. Karma is a biatch.
- NBA Playoffs update: Lakers up 2-1; Magic and Cavs tied. Lebron James hit the biggest shot of his career and the playoffs to tie up the series with ORL. The DEN/LAL series will go at least six games, neither team has shown dominance.
- Shooting at a Drake concert. Really?! You’re at a show that’s probably filled to the brim with women and you are more concerned with getting your tough-guy on? Priorities, men. P-r-i-o-r-i-t-i-e-s. Read the rest of this entry »
