What a way to start the weekend, as Stalley comes through on his promise and drops off the Savage Journey to the American Dream mixtape. We’ve heard a bunch about it over the past few months, so there is no surprise that this Maybach Music Group project is going to be top-notch. The mixtape is actually Stalley’s first project as an MMG project, and it seems like that Rick Ross backing is already paying off. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Stalley revealed a bit about his creative process and what we can expect from his upcoming project, Savage Journey to the American Dream. While the MMG MC wasn’t too enthused about placing features on the album, he did find a place for Curren$y. The final product turns out to be one of my favorite Stalley tracks to date. Stalley‘s forthcoming project Savage Journey To The American Dream is set to drop March 30. While there have been a ton of leaks over the past few weeks from the Ohio rap slinger, the Chad Hugo produced “Everything New” serves as the first official single from the album. Thanks to Hugo, this Neptunes-esque beat bangs like one of those old Clipse singles. While this isn’t the type of jam we are used to hearing from the Ohio native, but it works out pretty damn well.

In anticipation of his upcoming mixtape, Stalley has been blitzing the blogosphere with absolute fire. For his latest dosage, he blesses us with “God’s Child”. While the prior leaks have been stellar, this Block Beataz production takes the cake. It has been a long journey for Stalley, but with Maybach Music Group behind him, it looks like the sky is the limit for this promising MC. Savage Journey to the American Dream doesn’t have a release date yet, but our anticipation is at an all time high.

Stalley’s phenomenal 2011 project Lincoln Way Nights is still in steady rotation, and rightfully so. My favorite track from the album, “The Night”, gets the visual treatment today, showcasing the Tribe Called Quest samples and the dark themes throughout. Rick Ross and MMG made a good choice with this man, and I am terribly excited for his future with the rap collective. Stalley has plans of dropping his next project, Savage Journey to the American Dream, some time in 2012.
