Stormy represents a collaborative effort by two of Chicago’s finest, Pugs Atomz and Rashid Hadee. Both have made splashes already this year so it only makes sense that they would team up and tackle a project together. Hadee handles most of the production, except for a few guests like Fathom 9 and Tall Black Guy. And there aren’t a lot of guest MCs either — only one, actually, from Von Pea. Stormy is sponsored by and brought to you by the fine folks at Fake Shore Drive and DJBooth. Hit the jump for the rear artwork/track list.
Got to run to the Fresh Daily in-store at Fat Beats, but I leave you with this fresh video off of DJ Vadim’s LP, U can’t lurn Imaginashun, called ”Saturday”, featuring Pugs Atomz. One of my favorite joints off the album, and after giving it a listen I am sure it will be one of yours as well. Enjoy!
I first became aware of emcee/producer Rashid Hadee through his work with Pugs Atomz and recently with DJ K.O. and the Beat Society*Picture This remix he did for “That Knack”. He’s back with a new mixtape entitled Chopped Not Screwed Vol.1: 808’s & Hadee. Known as the go to producer of Chicago when you want that good ole soulful boom bap, Rashid Hadee has decided to pay homage to the home team on the first installment of his Chopped Not Screwed mixtape series. It features a couple of members from his Chapter 13 crew (Augustine & Melatone), Decay of The Molemen and Chicago veterans Pugs Atomz and The Primeridian. Chopped Not Screwed Vol.1: 808’s & Hadee is about the artistic expression of the producer and the rapper. Enjoy!
Here is the new mixtape from midwest emcee, Pugs Atomz, leading up to his June 16th album release, Roof Top. Pugs has been catching my eye recently, especially on the feature tip, most notably on DJ Vadim’s most recent album, Imaginashun. The mixtape features a bunch of exclusives and artists like DJ Vadim, Astronote, Finale and more. The homie Graffiti did the mixing and hosting, a dope DJ of A-Side family. Check it out and let us know what you think… (props to Fakeshore & 2dope)
AUTO-TUNE! Yes, I say that with excitement because after listening to this track I realize that using the notorious plugin can be done without making my ears want to fall off. This smooth production is from DJ Vadim’s upcoming BBE album, U Can’t Lurn Imaginashun, and it features Chicago emcee, Pugs Atomz. Check it out and let us know what you think!
