Green Street – “All I See” f. Oddisee

green street Green Street All I See f. OddiseeZach hipped me to Green Street earlier this year when he heard the track in question. We were, as you surely will be, digging the group’s blending of jazz and hip-hop. But, likely because of how goddamn unfortunately busy we are, our focus shifted elsewhere and we didn’t get a chance to share “All I See” with you all. Luckily, our buddy Jeremy (you might know him as JKRealize) had Green Sheet shoot over the track so here we are! It features some ridiculously smooth, curling-guitar driven production and a complementary guest verse from Potholes favorite Oddisee. If I have one complaint, though, I was hoping for some stronger vocals on the hook. But if you’re feeling “All I See”, you can get more information about Green Street here.

You can stream “All I See” below or download after the skip.

I Want People to Know They Should Never Quit: An Interview With Trek Life

trek life and oddisee I Want People to Know They Should Never Quit: An Interview With Trek Life

Those who have been following Potholes should be quite familiar by now with the name Trek Life. The up-and-coming Los Angeles emcee has outrageous talent and is proving that for once, good guys can finish first. After releasing a steady stream of music over the past two years, Trek is preparing to release his latest LP, Everything Changed Nothing, produced by Oddisee. We got a chance to catch up with Trek for a nice chat about the new album, his inspiration and his unfailing optimism. Hit the skip to read his thoughts, and to get a never-before-told story:

Oddisee – West Coast Beats [Mixtape]

trek life and oddisee Oddisee West Coast Beats [Mixtape]Trek Life and Oddisee certainly appear to be in the giving mood as of late. To celebrate the forthcoming release of Trek’s Everything Changed Nothing, which is solely produced by Oddisee, they have been doling out the freebies. First, Trek dropped catch-up mixtape Before Everything Changed that, for any newcomers, is the perfect way to get introduced to this talented California spitter. Then, yesterday, Oddisee decided to give away this free mixtape of Left Coast-inspired instrumentals called West Coast Beats. The diehards will recognize a few of the tracks from his Traveling Man project but there are also snippets of beats from Trek’s upcoming album along with several brand new cuts. In short, if you have been following Oddisee already, I’m sure you skipped all this text and immediately hit the download button.

You can grab the mixtape after the jump and stream the track “Don Cornelius” below.

Trek Life – Before Everything Changed [Mixtape]

trek life and oddisee Trek Life Before Everything Changed [Mixtape]As the prelude to his upcoming collaborative album with Oddisee, Trek Life has put together the Before Everything Changed mixtape. But rather than offer a bunch of random freestyles over industry beats as so many MCs do these days, Trek’s gone a different route. This mixtape offers tracks from throughout his career leading up to his upcoming Every Changed Nothing album. And while it doesn’t provide me with any new tracks as I’ve been a fan of Trek’s work, this is a fantastic means of getting acquainted with one hell of an artist.

Various Assets – Not For Sale: Red Bull Music Academy London 2010 [Compilation]

rbma Various Assets – Not For Sale: Red Bull Music Academy London 2010 [Compilation]I guess I can thank (insert random deity) for #thatsite as I probably would not have stumbled across this compilation without its help. Red Bull Music Academy has put together this free compilation of tracks from artists who participated in the 2010 event in London. And that equates to 41 free tracks from a slew of cats ranging from Oddisee to TOKiMONSTA to Dam-Funk, who all collaborated with other artists to create exclusive new cuts for this project. As an Oddisee fan, I’m mostly looking forward to his features, such as “Jackin4Beats Pt. 1″ that features him spitting over a 00Genesis production. The only shitty part about all this — I had other albums I planned on listening to today. Thanks a lot, RBMA.

You can stream “Jackin4Beats Pt. 1″ below and download the whole damn compilation after the jump.

Trek Life – “So Supreme” prod. Oddisee

trek life and oddisee Trek Life So Supreme prod. OddiseeOh hell goddamn yeah. This was one of those tracks I (and Zach) have been looking forward to ever since this project was announced. “So Supreme”, a banger filled with loads of bravado and killer production, represents the first leak from Trek Life’s upcoming Everything Changed Nothing album. As if new Trek wasn’t enough, the entire album is produced by none other than Oddisee. Yeah, that’s one killer combo that we only heard before in remix form when Oddisee reworked Price I’ve Paid to create the killer New Money. Now I just need that Oddisee and Finale record!

Hit the skip to download “So Supreme” or stream it below. And if you want to support these two great artists, go to iTunes to purchase the single.
