In anticipation of their upcoming 4th album together in 5 years, Murs & 9th Wonder decided to give the fans a freebie that won’t be on Fornever dropping March 30th. Every time I hear Murs & 9th wonder I feel like right back in that Justus League era circa (2002-2006). Creatively these two always bring it. Really looking forward to the new LP, enjoy! Here’s a little something for all you lovebirds out there. Nefarious! took the time to rework Murs’ “Me And This Jawn.” As a classic song for couples (they met on Valentine’s Day!), Murs does a nice job of detailing his relationship in this song, in case you were not familiar. So take a break from the flowers and chocolates, and check out some fine music instead. Happy Valentine’s Day.

BK-One has been, and always will be, one superb DJ. Since the days I used to watch him across the mixing board at Radio K when I was just being trained in on The Beat Box, he has always been this way. Me and him were lip-syncing “Oh No” by Mos Def, Pharoahe Monch and Nate Dogg when he played the 12″ one time. Now, along with up-and-coming beatsmith Benzilla, they have put out Rádio Do Canibal, a project to show the worldwide influences of music when the funk, jazz and samba rhythms and tones of Brazil match up with Hip-Hop across different areas of the United States. I was able to get BK-One to do a track-by-track of Canibal, so without further delay, HERE WE GO!

Welcome to the weekly rundown where we (soulsupreme and Marty) provide you with our top ten headlines for the week that was.
- Goodie Mob reunion show. If this means the whole group is getting back together, we have to admit we’re a little excited to see what comes of this. But if it’s just a reunion show? Eh, it’s difficult to look forward to a one-off concert.
- VH1 Hip-hop honours Def Jam special. This year the event honoured 25 years at Def Jam, which included artists like Public Enemy, EPMD, Beastie Boys, LL Cool J, etc. Black Thought and Eminem honoured LL with a special performance of “Rock The Bells”. The VH1 special will air Oct.13th.
- Jay-Z: “Lets be clear, no one is scared of 50 Cent.” Honestly, it’s a moot point. Kanye West would never do that to 50 Cent to because Fiddy never wins any awards. Read the rest of this entry »

Welcome to the weekly rundown where we (soulsupreme and Marty) provide you with our top ten headlines for the week that was.
- Phonte/Nicolay don’t want you to buy City Lights 2: Shibuya from iTunes. We shouldn’t be surprised since iTunes has pulled shit like this before. But it’s still a damn shame that they have messed up this release. Just make sure to hit up Amazon, Rhapsody, e-Music, etc… to pick this one up. I (Marty) have spun it a few times and it’s absolutely worth the money. And be on the look-out for a review this coming week.
- Jay-Z – Answer the Call concert @ MSG. Incredible concert for a worthy cause. Jay-Z and a number of guest appearances from the likes of John Mayer, Mary J. Blige, Kanye West, Kid Cudi & Rihanna. They, put simply, rocked MSG for the 9/11 benefit concert.
- Raekwon OB4CL2 Release Party @ Santos, NYC. We wish we could have been there for the festivities. If the party was even one-tenth as good as the actual album, it was probably ridiculous. Peep the video and pretend you were lucky enough to attend. Read the rest of this entry »
