Muneshine – “Heavy Hitters” f. Fundament & D-Sisive

Muneshine Muneshine Heavy Hitters f. Fundament & D Sisive

Here is the video for the lead single from the Transmitting Live Mixtape that we dropped many moons ago. Featuring Toronto heavyweights Muneshine, Fundament and D-Sisive, this is definitely a banger that you will want to check out. Give it a spin and let us know what you think.

You can stream the track below and check the visuals after the jump!

Twin Peaks – “Just Say No”

twin peaks Twin Peaks Just Say NoEven though Ghettosocks might just be one of the worst rapper names I’ve ever seen, he and Muneshine make quite a killer combination as Twin Peaks. And here, in their video for “Just Say No”, the two take their creativity to another level. They wanted to go for the whole David Lynch (get it, he created Twin Peaks) look for their video and, from what I’ve seen, they nailed it. It’s rare you see this kind of thought go into a hip-hop video, hell any video in general these days, aside from the grandiose bullshit from the major labels.

Fresh Daily – “Pastelz” f. Theo Martins, prod. Muneshine

fresh daily Fresh Daily Pastelz f. Theo Martins, prod. MuneshineIt’s always refreshing to get a new track from an under-appreciated artist such as Fresh Daily, who admittedly did get plenty of shine last year thanks to his fantastic album, The Gorgeous Killer In Crimes Of Passion. But on “Pastelz”, we get not one, not two, but three solid underground acts teaming up for one hell of a summer track. Muneshine’s soulful production sets the scene for some very strong bars from Fresh and guest Theo Martins, whose spits an excellent opening verse. If only we had a download link for this track, but a stream will do for now…

Oddisee – Odd Spring [EP]

Oddisee Oddisee Odd Spring [EP]

Oddisee continues his winning streak with his fourth seasonal EP, Odd Spring. Starting in the summer of 2009, he has brought a killer free project that greatly grasps the vibe and feel of each season. And many times, these EPs act as a means of previewing an upcoming project. For example, Odd Spring features a track called “The Beat is for Finale” that more than likely will feature the Detroit rapper when their collaborative Odds & Ends project drops this year. This free sampling of Oddisee material also hosts features from his Diamond District crew, Muneshine, Kingpin Slim, and Olivier Daysoul. Hit the skip to grab this excellent free EP and kick off spring the right way.

Download: Muneshine – “Gotta Feeling” feat. D-Sisive & Shad [mp3]

Three of my favorite T-Dot hip-hop artists team up and put out this fine single today, a part of the new URBNET compilation, Underground Hip-Hop Volume 5. I have heard more original titles in my day, luckily the music doesn’t fall into the same trap. “Gotta Feeling” comes correct with a graffiti metaphor, giving you the facts of life. With verses from Muneshine, D-Sisive and Shad, you already know this is going to be a heater. And I can’t forget the beat, quite a beautiful one indeed! Check it out and let us know what you think…

Muneshine was telling me about this project a few weeks ago, but I didn’t know they were going to drop it for free today! Mune and Saint are some talented cats, showing their ability to hold it down on the beats and rhymes. Open House is a perfect example of just that. The album features such artists as Rob Swift, Ego G., Dminor, Ohmega Watts, Shad K., and more. Give it a spin and share some thoughts…
