Anytime DJ Jazzy Jeff or Mick Boogie put together a mix I’m already interested. So when I got word they collaborated on a summertime mixtape I was excited to hear the results. Their mixtape Summertime is the perfect blend of classic summertime hip-hop, R&B, and 70′s soul to keep any cookout jamming or if you just need good music to go with this great weather. Some of the highlights include Jay Dee’s “Think Twice”, Bush Babies’ – “The Love Song” (Feat. Mos Def), Maze Feat. Frankie Beverly “Before I Let Go” and so much more. Here’s what looks like an insane (in a good way) tribute to my personal favorite group of all time – De La Soul. Mick Boogie & Terry Urban teamed up with a slew of artists (ranging from Tanya Morgan to Phife Dawg to 6th Sense to Camp Lo to Apple Juice Kid) for this project. I heard a leak the other day for Phife’s  “Peace Porridge” and I can tell you I was interested off that track alone. Download, enjoy, and give thanks to one of the greatest groups to ever do it as well as everyone involved on this mixtape. Hit the jump for the tracklist.

Sorry for the lack of posts lately, Marty has been down with a cold (in the summer?), SS is swamped at the 9-5 and I am just being an all-around bum. Anyway, Jabee just got up with Mick Boogie and a gang of artists to release this very fresh mixtape, Must Be Nice. Just got this new mixtape from The Kid Daytona in. Let me tell you right off the bat, this kid can spit. The project features production from 6th Sense, Ill Bomb, Double O, Jet Audio, and The Government, using samples entirely from Bobby Caldwell’s Nautilus. You already know what happens when you sample Bobby Caldwell in hip-hop… I don’t even need to get into that. Also got to throw props at the album cover, looks a tribute to the Beastie Boys. Huge fan of U-N-I and have been anticipating this Mick Boogie mixtape for quite some time.
