On this project, we find ourselves listening to Mack touch on a number of serious topics, as Ryan tackles some of rock’s contemporary songs in his samples. Pay attention! A lot of great stuff is said in this song, but you probably already expected that from Macklemore. And with this great collaboration, we receive word that there is much more where this came from. In fact, at the end of the month, Mack and Ryan expect to drop their donations only EP, VS, which will sample tons of rock from the past few years. This one samples one of my favorite Red Hot Chili Pepper songs! Check it out and let us know what you think…

I heard Macklemore’s music for the first time about a year or two ago. I had never heard of the guy prior to that and I haven’t really heard of anything from him since as far as music goes. His solo LP, The Language of My World, is what caught my attention at first. It was packed with some of the most comical, yet serious lyricism I had ever heard in one album. It had me wanting more, a lot more. The wait was well worth it though, as we get our first peak today at his upcoming mixtape entitled, The Unplanned. A bit of a sentimental and uplifting track, quite the fantastic introduction to an emcee you should all get familiar with if you aren’t already. Give it a spin and share your thoughts… Props to Scenik for the stellar production and Vitamin D for the cuts!
