Beautiful Music: An Interview With Homeboy Sandman

Homeboy Sandman Beautiful Music: An Interview With Homeboy Sandman

We had to delay this feature for a couple weeks, but finally, it is here. I had a chance to sit down with an amazing artist and good friend, Homeboy Sandman, to talk about his latest album, The Good Sun. While there haven’t been too many hip-hop albums in 2010 to get excited about, Sandman dropped an LP that contests that statement. Filled with stellar production and next-level lyricism, if there is only one rap album you purchase this year, make sure it’s The Good Sun. With that said, check out this insightful Q&A session I had with Homeboy Sandman and let us know what you think!

Homeboy Sandman – “Yeah, But I Can Rhyme Though”

Homeboy Sandman Homeboy Sandman Yeah, But I Can Rhyme Though

Believe it or not, being an overall great individual goes a long way in the music business. Especially when the current climate is filled with jackass bloggers and arrogant emcees. With that said, I present to you the latest single from a true friend, Homeboy Sandman, who also happens to be dropping his debut commercial LP, The Good Sun, on June 1. Not only is Sandman a great guy, but he also happens to be one of the most talented and unique emcees I have ever come across. “Yeah, But I Can Rhyme Though” is a perfect example of that, as he drops heavy doses of wisdom and wit. And I can’t forget to mention the awesome look he gets from the LA Times, which is where this single also premiered. Give the single a spin and be sure to support Homeboy Sandman on June 1!

Video: DJ Spinna – “Get On Down” feat. Homeboy Sandman, P.SO & Fresh Daily

The legendary DJ Spinna dropped his solo LP, Sonic Smash a few months back. Personally, I thought there were a few fresh cuts, but something about it just came up short. But this song in particular was one of those few that was kept in my rotation to this day. Featuring the homies Homeboy Sandman, P.SO and Fresh Daily, this boombap of a track is one for the hip-hop ages. Give it a view and let us know what you think…
