Today we get our hands on the highly anticipated mix of rare grooves, Back For Seconds. As usual, the homies 2 Hungry Bros come through on the production, while some AOK family checks in to spit that hot fire. Guests include Homeboy Sandman, Fresh Daily, 8thW1, Silent Knight, Senor Kaos, P.So, and more! Give this fine piece of music and download and let us know what you think…
Here is the latest leak off the 2 Hungry Bros upcoming project, Back For Seconds. “Sand Luc Picard” features the one and only Homeboy Sandman, an emcee that you have come to expect nothing but greatness from. I don’t have a release date yet for this, but you can expect to see the usual AOK cast like 8thW1, P.So, Fresh Daily and more on there. Give this groovy track a spin and let us know what you think…
The legendary DJ Spinna dropped his solo LP, Sonic Smash a few months back. Personally, I thought there were a few fresh cuts, but something about it just came up short. But this song in particular was one of those few that was kept in my rotation to this day. Featuring the homies Homeboy Sandman, P.SO and Fresh Daily, this boombap of a track is one for the hip-hop ages. Give it a view and let us know what you think…
Here comes another cut off 6th Sense’s mixtape, which has been leaking a song every week now for the past 3 weeks on his bandcamp. Before we had looks at collaborations with artists like Jon Hope and Chip The Ripper, and now we get this awesome joint with the homie Homeboy Sandman. Some real abstract business going on here, but what did you expect? Homeboy and 6th are always pushing it to the limit. Give this a spin and let us know what you think…
So this winter’s not been treating you too well? Cheer up. Oddisee comes back with his third installment in his Odd Seasons series, this time with Odd Winter. Aimed to fit the mood of the season, this album, full of gorgeous instrumentals and full tracks is just what you need to cure those winter blues. Features include XO, Tranqill, Stik Figa, and Homeboy Sandman. Give it a spin and leave us your thoughts! Props to Put Me On It for hosting.
Great to see a good friend like Homeboy Sandman get the real shine that he deserves. With looks from Subway and MTViggy, Homeboy breaks down hip-hop, and also spits a quick rhyme he wrote about freshness. And if all goes as planned, word on the street says Sandman will be dropping an LP some time this year! Definitely can’t wait for that. For now, give this video a view and let us know what you think…
Here’s what looks like an insane (in a good way) tribute to my personal favorite group of all time – De La Soul. Mick Boogie & Terry Urban teamed up with a slew of artists (ranging from Tanya Morgan to Phife Dawg to 6th Sense to Camp Lo to Apple Juice Kid) for this project. I heard a leak the other day for Phife’s “Peace Porridge” and I can tell you I was interested off that track alone. Download, enjoy, and give thanks to one of the greatest groups to ever do it as well as everyone involved on this mixtape. Hit the jump for the tracklist.
Homeboy Sandman is one of my favorite emcees doing it right now. His raps are just so honest and down to earth, how could you go wrong? This is, for me at least, the first hip-hop song I have heard regarding homeless people, and it is absolutely beautiful. With J57 on the boards, “Angels With Dirty Faces” made its debut on DJ Premier’s Satellite radio show this past weekend, and now we get our hands on it today. I am also receiving word that this will be one of the cuts off of Homeboy’s upcoming retail LP, which drops in February of 2010. Give it a spin and let us know what you think after the skip… And a bit of advice, you might want to put this one on repeat. Sandman is known to stick stuff in between the lines that you don’t quite catch the first time around. You might not be used to rap being this smart!
ATWL will be hitting us with a slew of live show videos real soon. In the meantime, here is the trailer for their upcoming taping of an AOK affair at DROM. Appearances from Homeboy Sandman, P.So, 8thW1, Fresh Daily and more. Maybe some collabs with ATWL in the near future? We shall see!
