Exile – “Your Summer Song” (Remix) f. J. Mitchell

Exile Exile Your Summer Song (Remix) f. J. MitchellExile was kind enough to drop off a free collection of leftovers that just didn’t make the cut for his forthcoming AM/FM project, which features remixes of his Radio album tracks. He’s also been leaking a number of songs from that upcoming album, such as this one that hit the ‘net quite a while ago. But we’re just now getting the trippy, gorgeous visuals for the “Your Summer Song” remix featuring J. Mitchell. I’m a little jealous of their adventure here and the whole driving around the desert bit, but hey, at least I can watch this and pretend.

Exile – Radio Bonus [LP]

Exile Exile Radio Bonus [LP]

One thing I was hoping for when I returned from my vacation was a lot of awesome music. While the start of 2010 hasn’t been so great for hip-hop, it is definitely putting up a solid fight to change that in the later months. One of the projects restoring my faith is this puppy right here, Exile’s Radio Bonus album. While we have seen tons of leaks from this talked about LP over the past year, the entire thing has finally materialized, and it’s free! Featuring tracks from Exile’s instrumental LP Radio, he has enlisted some of the best artists in the business, allowing them to do whatever they want over the tracks. With that, we also get word that Exile will be releasing more remixes from Radio on the project AM/FM, a retail effort which will be available August 31 via Plug Research. I hope all these remixes are an indicator that we can expect more original music from the masterful producer.

Blame One – “Glass House”

Blame One Blame One Glass HouseThe good folks over at OkayPlayer just premiered this new video from the homie Blame One and seeing how we’re big fans of his work it would only be right that we post it here. You should recognize the track, “Glass House”, off the Leaks & Gemz mixtape Blame released earlier this year to much praise. It was one of the better cuts off that project already, thanks mostly to the MC’s introspective, personal lyrics and Exile’s twinkling piano-laden production. But it’s brought to another level by this great, simplistic video that perfectly complements Blame’s sentiments.

Exile – “It’s Coming Down” (DJ Rhettmatic Remix)

dj rhettmatic Exile Its Coming Down (DJ Rhettmatic Remix)I know you (well, most of you) have been anticipating the hell out of the remix album of Exile’s acclaimed Radio. Hell, I know I have. Well, it looks like it’s coming sooner rather than later (FINALLY) as it’s set to drop in August. Before we get into that, though, Ex’s label, Plug Research, is offering a free bonus album of remixes that didn’t make the cut. One of those tracks happens to be this pretty sick reworking of “It’s Coming Down” by none other than DJ Rhettmatic. He takes the already chopped-up track and scratches and cuts the hell out of it while adding emphasis to the warbling bass. It makes for what’s an actual, proper remix. *sigh* Remember those?

You can download Rhett’s remix after the jump or stream it below!
