Diamond District, Blu, Fashawn, Exile & Trek Life have recently been touring throughout Europe in support of their respective albums. On the Paris leg of the tour they ended the show with a 10 minute freestyle and Exile killing the MPC. [Via LoveOnTheBeat]
The homie DJ Low Key sent us this new Von Peatrack “Toss It Over”. The track is off the DJ Low Key & Sounds Supreme – The Solution Tape #1. mixtape dropping in early February. The release of this mixtape is part of their three-year anniversary of their weekly party – The Solution; this is one of the premier nights for Hip-Hop in Denver, CO. Denver Solution has a massive post from June 2009 showcasing a Red Bull Music Academy-sponsored Solution night where Exile, DJ Day, Che Grand, Von and Donwill were surprise guests.
“Toss It Over” came together when four-time Solution guest and all around great rapper/producer, Von Pea from Tanya Morgan, recorded over an unreleased Suhburb beat. DJ Low Key & Sounds Supreme – The Solution Tape #1, will features exclusives and premiers from all three members of Tanya Morgan, Donnis, Ro Blvd, Median, Kooley High, Mike Baker, 1 O.A.K., Moe Green, Whygee, Kid Hum, Exile, DJ Day, Che Grand, Othello, DJ Vajra & more. It’s no secret that hip-hop is in constant motion – it changes year to year. Emerging technologies combined with the fickle needs and wants of the industry, the artists, and the fans, all play a role in shaping our musical world. Some of the changes to the hip-hop scene have been, well, less than desirable (see: the decline of radio rap). However, the past ten years, 2000-2009, still held releases of some of the most creative and unique hip-hop albums of all time, with an ever-expanding range of sub-genres. Traditional hip-hop rooted in the golden age of the ’90s was certainly alive and well, but it was sharing chart space with newer, progressive styles. That said, we have compiled a list of our 25 favorite hip-hop albums from the past ten years, as a form of celebrating the musical diversity in hip-hop from the decade that was.
Heralded by two of hip hop’s most celebrated producers in Madlib and Exile, wind burned Chicagoan MC aDaD is an artist to watch in 2010. Currently working on an exciting project with the aforementioned MPC masher, Exile, aDaD is a smooth spittin’ sensation with an infectious tumbling flow and singing voice. A perfect introduction to this future blog buzzed barnstormer is the track below, “Sky“, featuring Radio-like transmissions from the hottest producer in hop hop. A few months ago the homie Blame One announced his retirement from hip-hop. But today we get word that Blame is back, and stronger than ever. Today I am honored to exclusively present to you, Leaks & Gemz, a mixtape featuring some new joints and unreleased goodness. On this tape you are going to come across appearances from cats like Blu, Fashawn, Exile, Supa Koopa 805, Trek Life, Sene, DJ Babu, Mr. Brady and many more. Along with the release of this mixtape, I would also like to bring to your attention that Blame is in the studio with DJ Babu, crafting a classic collaboration LP. As we wait for that, check out the countless bangers on this mixtape, and stay tuned for more news on this hip-hop veteran…

There are very few free projects that I am anticipating more than this one. We have been getting wind of a bunch of leaks from the project, but it will be awesome to hear it in its entirety.
