D-Sisive – “West Coast”

D Sisive D Sisive West CoastD-Sisive’s Coconut Records-sampling joint is an undeniably fun lil’ romp and, thankfully, the Vaudeville track has its own video. And, again, the underground is showing that, most of the time, it incorporates some of the most original and interesting ideas into its videos. Sure, there are a few silly parts here and there in this video, but it’s mostly a perfectly complementary piece to the track with some strong artistic direction, particularly during the hook.

D-Sisive – “West Coast” Remix f. Moka Only

Yesterday marked the Canadian release of D-Sisive‘s album, Vaudeville. While we still have over a month to go before we see a release here in the States, we get to feast our ears on some more leaks! While there are tons of awesome tracks on the LP, this bonus song might be one of my favorites. Featuring a killer sample from Coconut Records’ “West Coast”, along with a guest verse from Moka Only, this is an awesome indie/hip-hop fusion track to jam with. Check out the single and be sure to support Canadian hip-hop. Vaudeville available in the US July 27 via URBNET Records.

Pigeon Hole – “Light Show” f. D-Sisive

Pigeon Hole Pigeon Hole Light Show f. D Sisive

Here is the latest single from Pigeon Hole’s upcoming project, Age Like Astronauts, which will be available June 15 via URBNET Records. With tons of hipster appeal, this rap duo still finds a way to keep things real hip-hop. Unfortunately, half of you will immediately dismiss them because I used the word hipster, but I urge you to give it a try. Am I wrong though with that label? I mean, look at that mustache. Pure power right there. Anyway, “Light Show” features D-Sisive, who also has a new project dropping soon on URBNET. Age Like Astronauts will feature other artists like Moka Only and the rest of the Sweatshop Union. Give it a spin and share some thoughts.

D-Sisive – “Ray Charles (Looking For A Star)” f. King Reign

D Sisive D Sisive Ray Charles (Looking For A Star) f. King Reign

Today, Canadian-bred emcee D-Sisive lets loose of his latest single, “Ray Charles (Looking For A Star”, which features a fantastic closing verse from King Reign. Ever since I checked out this guys solo LP last year, Let The Children Die, I have been craving more. Luckily, we won’t have to wait much longer for some new material, as we also get word that D-Sisive will be dropping Vaudeville on June 22 in Canada, and July 27 in the US. I know it is difficult to check up on every new piece of music these days, especially from artists you have never heard of. But if you are going to check out any albums this year, I urge that you throw Vaudeville on that list. If you are open to a progressive and refreshing sound, then this is definitely something for you to check out. You better watch out US emcees, Canada is knockin’.

Download: Muneshine – “Gotta Feeling” feat. D-Sisive & Shad [mp3]

Three of my favorite T-Dot hip-hop artists team up and put out this fine single today, a part of the new URBNET compilation, Underground Hip-Hop Volume 5. I have heard more original titles in my day, luckily the music doesn’t fall into the same trap. “Gotta Feeling” comes correct with a graffiti metaphor, giving you the facts of life. With verses from Muneshine, D-Sisive and Shad, you already know this is going to be a heater. And I can’t forget the beat, quite a beautiful one indeed! Check it out and let us know what you think…
