Welcome to the weekly rundown where we (soulsupreme and Marty) provide you with our top ten headlines for the week that was.
- Goodie Mob reunion show. If this means the whole group is getting back together, we have to admit we’re a little excited to see what comes of this. But if it’s just a reunion show? Eh, it’s difficult to look forward to a one-off concert.
- VH1 Hip-hop honours Def Jam special. This year the event honoured 25 years at Def Jam, which included artists like Public Enemy, EPMD, Beastie Boys, LL Cool J, etc. Black Thought and Eminem honoured LL with a special performance of “Rock The Bells”. The VH1 special will air Oct.13th.
- Jay-Z: “Lets be clear, no one is scared of 50 Cent.” Honestly, it’s a moot point. Kanye West would never do that to 50 Cent to because Fiddy never wins any awards. Read the rest of this entry »

As we continue to follow D.Black’s campaign leading to the release of his LP, he hits us with the first official single, “Yesterday”. Production on this joint is handled by D himself as well as B.Brown, joining forces to create some motivational music for these difficult times. Ali’Yah, D’s sophomore effort, is unfolding as one of the most anticipated albums here at Potholes. From what we have heard, the production has been stellar and Black’s rhymes remain fresh and progressive. Stay with us as we approach September 15th, the official release date for the album, courtesy of Sportin’ Life and Myx Music.

Keelay sent me over this track yesterday from his new label-mate D.Black, produced and featuring Vitamin D. According to sources, D’s album will be featuring production entirely from Jake One and Vitamin D, which makes it sound like it is going to be a very focused effort. I am also being told that the album is going to really sit well with hardcore hip-hop heads and the more laid back fan alike. With that said, check out the leak and let us know what you think…
