Tunji – “Towards The Future” f. Deacon the Villain
Tunji sent this track over last Friday, but I am only getting my lazy self around to posting it now. One thing you can always expect from Tunji is positive music. “Towards The Future” is a prime example of that. With Deacon the Villain of Cunninlynguist fame jumping on the track, the two bring forth a fun track for the summer months. I also have to make note of the wonderful production that Cook Classics provides on the track, not that we expect anything less from him. This track will appear on Tunji’s Still Rising EP, which he has been telling me a lot of exciting things about.

Outasight – “Dizzy”
Not that you care, but today has been a pretty awful day for me (ask Andrew Martin). With that said, when Outasight‘s name popped up in my inbox, I wasn’t exactly thrilled. Not because I don’t absolutely love his music, it’s just that I was more in the mood for emotional music like Elliott Smith than feel-good pop. Anyway, the Cook Classics produced “Dizzy” is exactly that, a feel-good pop single that actually made me feel one-tenth of a percent better. The single will be appearing on Outasight’s upcoming mixtape, Never Say Never, which will be available July 2. Where is the album, Outasight?

Download: Outasight – Further [Mixtape]
You know anything from Outasight automatically gets put up over here at Potholes. He’s been a favorite of ours since he first appeared and we’re especially proud of his recent signing to Asylum/Warner. Further is a brand new mixtape/project sponsored by LRG (Lifted Research Group) and it features 14 tracks, some of which have leaked before but most are new. Production on here comes from the likes of 6th Sense, Cook Classics, and D/Will. Check it out and enjoy, we know you will. Also, hit the jump for the rear artwork and track list.

Download: Buff1, Shawn Jackson & Diz Gibran – “The Best Are Full Of Love” prod. Cook Classics
This lineup is insane! Three of my favorite emcees in Buff1, Shawn Jackson and Diz Gibran going in over a Cook Classics heater. It doesn’t get any better than this. Some more information:
Here’s a video of Buff1 and Diz working on a track called “The Best are Full of Love” with Cook Classics. The song was originally recorded by Shawn Jackson for The New Classics Mixtape, but wasn’t used. In a recent session, we decided to revive the track with new verses from Buff1 x Diz and release it. The song will be featured on the new Buff1 project, ‘It’s a 1derful Life‘ as well as Shawn Jackson’s mixtape coming soon. Video by Greg the Dude.

Download: The Kid Daytona – Come Fly With Me [Album]
We dropped Daytona‘s short, but sweet Daytona 500 EP a few months ago, but today he drops the long-awaited LP, Come Fly With Me. Let me start by saying that The Kid is not only a premier lyricist, but a top-notch all-around emcee. He is definitely giving a lot of older cats a run for their money in today’s rap game. Not only is he doing it big, but he has some huge cosigns, at it shows from the all-star line-up of guest appearances he has on the album like Bun B, Kardinal Offishall, Amanda Diva, Outasight and more. The production is on-point as well, as the homie 6th Sense handles a large amount of the load, while Cook Classics, The Government, Jet Audio, Ill Bomb and more play smaller roles. Give it a spin and share your thoughts…

We got a sneak peak last week of the album, and I have been anxiously waiting for Donny to give us the green light and give it out to the people. The follow up to the more serious Minute After Midnight, The Breakfast Club serves as a stage for Donny to show off his lighter, more artistic side. Going in on tracks with sampling everything from French House to 80s rock to old-school boom-bap, this man proves he can do it all. The free album features production from some very fresh cats like Cook Classics, Kwame, Statik Selektah, 6th Sense, DJ Static and more. Guest features included Mistah F.A.B., Outasight, Che Grand, Amanda Diva, Naledge, Skyzoo, Planet Asia and more. Give it a download, spin it a couple times and let us know what you think. Also be on the lookout later today for an exclusive interview with the man Donny Goines himself…
