Freddie Gibbs – Str8 Killa No Filla [Mixtape]

Freddie Gibbs1 Freddie Gibbs Str8 Killa No Filla [Mixtape]If you weren’t anticipating the hell out of this project, well, I’m sorry? As several folks have pointed out in our comment section over the past few weeks whenever I write about Freddie Gibbs: Does anyone actually dislike this guy? I mean, dude’s flow is ferocious. He can tell a hell of a story about his rough — and true — upbringing while also delivering plenty of gangster attitude throughout his bars. This is one MC that has a bright future ahead of him and, hopefully, we hear more from him sooner rather than later. Personally, I’m just glad we’re finally seeing the release of Str8 Killa No Filla as it feels like this has been delayed forever. But maybe I’m impatient.

Freddie Gibbs – “Rock Bottom” F. Bun B

Freddie Gibbs1 Freddie Gibbs Rock Bottom F. Bun B

Freddie Gibbs is back with his latest single “Rock Bottom” off his Str8 Killa No Filla mixtape. The track features Bun B with production by Beatnick & K-Salaam. “Rock Bottom” has that Southern flow, infectious hook with the perfect beat to marry it. Freddie Gibbs and Bun B both sound great on this new record as they trade verses on the trials of being rock bottom and finding a way to get back up. Check out the new track and let us know what you think.

Download: The Kid Daytona – Come Fly With Me [Album]

Daytona - ComeFlyWithMeWe dropped Daytona‘s short, but sweet Daytona 500 EP a few months ago, but today he drops the long-awaited LP, Come Fly With Me. Let me start by saying that The Kid is not only a premier lyricist, but a top-notch all-around emcee. He is definitely giving a lot of older cats a run for their money in today’s rap game. Not only is he doing it big, but he has some huge cosigns, at it shows from the all-star line-up of guest appearances he has on the album like Bun B, Kardinal Offishall, Amanda Diva, Outasight and more. The production is on-point as well, as the homie 6th Sense handles a large amount of the load, while Cook Classics, The Government, Jet Audio, Ill Bomb and more play smaller roles. Give it a spin and share your thoughts…

Download: Young Chris, Wale, Bun B, & Señor Kaos – “Searching For An Outlet”

outlet Download: Young Chris, Wale, Bun B, & Señor Kaos Searching For An OutletJust got this track in from The Kaos Effect called “Searching For An Outlet”. The joint features a power house lineup of Young Chris, Wale, Bun B & Señor Kaos. This has that classic go-go drum pattern on there, something very common from cats out of the DMV. If you were dissapointed by Wale’s last single effort in “Chillin”, this would be a good joint to restore some faith in the up and coming emcee. Also be on the lookout for more updates on Wale and his new album as  the release approaches!
