Is it just me or has there been a ton of great free music released over the past few days? And it doesn’t seem to be stopping anytime soon. Here’s the latest mixtape from yet another Potholes favorite, Buff1. He’s got beats from Black Milk, Astronote, and M-Phazes as well as new Crown Royale joints. If you didn’t know, Crown Royale is the pairing up of Buff1 and DJ Rhettmatic — their album should be dropping relatively soon in 2010. We have been following David Dallas for a while now, so it’s only right we hit you with this remix featuring another homie, Buff1. This single will be featured as a bonus cut on David Dallas’ upcoming single, “I Get The Feelin.” It will also appear on Buff’s free project, It’s A 1derful World, which drops this Wednesday! Here’s a video of Buff1 and Diz working on a track called “The Best are Full of Love” with Cook Classics. The song was originally recorded by Shawn Jackson for The New ClassicsMixtape, but wasn’t used. In a recent session, we decided to revive the track with new verses from Buff1 x Diz and release it. The song will be featured on the new Buff1 project, ‘It’s a 1derful Life‘ as well as Shawn Jackson’s mixtape coming soon. Video by Greg the Dude.
I totally missed this in the inbox today, and now I am kicking myself in the head. This is some FANTASTIC hip-hop right here. We have been hitting you a lot with fresh cuts this week, but this is some next level business. Buff1, one of my favorite emcees in the game right now, teams up with one of my favorite producers in Damu The Fudgemunk, to create an instant classic. I went to the Mayer Hawthorne show this past Sunday in Toronto. Buff1, 14KT and MymanHenri were the opening acts for a sold out engagement at the Drake Hotel. MymanHenri, who’s another well-respected DJ opened things up with a twenty-five minute set that included some Jay Dee remixes and some down-tempo funk. Today we got hit with another busy day of news coming out of the Myx Music camp. With much speculation leading up to the announcement, Crown Royal, the collaboration duo of DJ Rhettmatic and Buff1, have officially signed a deal with Myx. No release date for that LP quite yet, but it looks like we won’t get our hands on it until at least 2010. In the meantime, “We Gotcha” is the first single you can nibble on as we approach the new year. Along with that, we also give you some more treats from label-mate, Kam Moye. “Blue Skies”, produced by Apollo Brown, is another leak that will not be featured on Kam’s upcoming LP, Splitting Image, which will arrive in stores October 27th. It seems like label-mates, 14KT and Buff1 have been making a big push on the internet lately. They hit us with the video for “Real Appeal” only a few days ago, and they are back again with this banger of a leak. You already know enough about how much I dig the A-Side movement, Buff is a beast on the mic and KT shows his ability to change up his sound time and time again, especially on this track. Brand new video coming from the homie Buff1, produced by another homie 14KT, and featuring the soulful AB on the hook. It’s great to see Buff continue to push his latest album, There’s Only One, which came out actually quite a while ago. And continuing on, I must comment on the freshness of this video. The black and white is a great touch as Buff, KT and AB do there thing in the fancy getup. Oh yeah, and I must mention the sexy chicas that run rampant in the video. Don’t miss out!
