Freebass 808 – “Rewind” feat. Jovi Rockwell

Freebass 808 Freebass 808 Rewind feat. Jovi Rockwell

Freebass 808 is the name of the duo consisting of emcee, Suede (Camp Lo) and producer, Apple Juice Kid. This song was actually released several weeks ago, but I didn’t really get a chance to listen to it until today. Something a little different from the usual joints we post on Potholes, high-energy with heavy doses of mainstream appeal. It is only a matter of time before Apple Juice Kid really blows up as a producer. As long as he continues to drop tracks like this, I don’t see why we wouldn’t start seeing him get some radio play. They just have to make sure they quit it with the cheesy looking artwork. Check this one out and be sure to share your thoughts…

Download: Mick Boogie & Terry Urban – Le Da Soul [Mixtape]

Le Da Soul FrontHere’s what looks like an insane (in a good way) tribute to my personal favorite group of all time – De La Soul. Mick Boogie & Terry Urban teamed up with a slew of artists (ranging from Tanya Morgan to Phife Dawg to 6th Sense to Camp Lo to Apple Juice Kid) for this project. I heard a leak the other day for Phife’s  “Peace Porridge” and I can tell you I was interested off that track alone. Download, enjoy, and give thanks to one of the greatest groups to ever do it as well as everyone involved on this mixtape. Hit the jump for the tracklist.

The Remix ProjectBefore I even talk about this project, major shouts to Objektiv One for hooking up one of the freshest pieces of album art. Moving on, the homie Apple Juice Kid along with several others conducted a number of classic hip-hop remakes, with the use of live instrumentation. I always love this type of thing, especially when it is done well like it was here. Thanks to IllRoots & Okayplayer for putting this fantastic piece out to the public…
