Welcome to the weekly rundown where we (soulsupreme and Marty) provide you with our top ten headlines for the week that was.
- VIBE Magazine ceases operations. After 16 years in business the urban music magazine has ceased operations. It’s not too surprising to anyone these days when a magazine or newspaper folds. But that doesn’t mean it’s still disappointing and a continuing sign of how shitty the industry has become.
- R.I.P. QB Steve McNair. In a very sad turn of events former Tennessee Quarterback Steve McNair was killed yesterday in an apparent murder-suicide along with a young woman. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family during this time.
- Michael Jackson returns to the Billboard charts. After the tragic death of the music icon last week, his music sales have dominated billboard charts again. Sadly, death is one hell of a promotion tool. Read the rest of this entry »

- South Park pulls the ultimate joke on Kanye West. The “fishsticks” joke on South Park is the funniest thing we’ve seen on South Park in a while. Kanye West your fashion choices have defeated you! Damn homie, heavy hitter or switch hitter? lmao!
- Mos Def Challenges Lil Wayne & Jay Z to a rap battle. A video rant surfaced this week from Spring 2008. A drunken Mos Def somewhere in Detroit challenges Lil Wayne & Jay Z to a rap battle; “Put your money up I’ll take the money!” Can we pay-per-view that shit?
- Eminem releases new video for ‘We Made You’. In true Eminen fashion, the video takes potshots at all celebrities. The video is hilarious, but the song is forgettable. How many times have we heard this song already? Read the rest of this entry »
