Here comes another cut off 6th Sense’s mixtape, which has been leaking a song every week now for the past 3 weeks on his bandcamp. Before we had looks at collaborations with artists like Jon Hope and Chip The Ripper, and now we get this awesome joint with the homie Homeboy Sandman. You know anything from Outasight automatically gets put up over here at Potholes. He’s been a favorite of ours since he first appeared and we’re especially proud of his recent signing to Asylum/Warner. Further is a brand new mixtape/project sponsored by LRG (Lifted Research Group) and it features 14 tracks, some of which have leaked before but most are new. Here’s what looks like an insane (in a good way) tribute to my personal favorite group of all time – De La Soul. Mick Boogie & Terry Urban teamed up with a slew of artists (ranging from Tanya Morgan to Phife Dawg to 6th Sense to Camp Lo to Apple Juice Kid) for this project. I heard a leak the other day for Phife’s  “Peace Porridge” and I can tell you I was interested off that track alone. We dropped Daytona’s short, but sweet Daytona 500 EP a few months ago, but today he drops the long-awaited LP, Come Fly With Me. Let me start by saying that The Kid is not only a premier lyricist, but a top-notch all-around emcee. He is definitely giving a lot of older cats a run for their money in today’s rap game. Not only is he doing it big, but he has some huge cosigns, at it shows from the all-star line-up of guest appearances he has on the album like Bun B, Kardinal Offishall, Amanda Diva, Outasight and more. The production is on-point as well, as the homie 6th Sense handles a large amount of the load, while Cook Classics, The Government, Jet Audio, Ill Bomb and more play smaller roles. Just got this new mixtape from The Kid Daytona in. Let me tell you right off the bat, this kid can spit. The project features production from 6th Sense, Ill Bomb, Double O, Jet Audio, and The Government, using samples entirely from Bobby Caldwell’s Nautilus. You already know what happens when you sample Bobby Caldwell in hip-hop… I don’t even need to get into that. Also got to throw props at the album cover, looks a tribute to the Beastie Boys.
