You know, I was just starting to wonder when Ta-ku would go ahead and drop a new project, if only because I felt like we haven’t heard from him in a minute. Well, he’s clearly been up to a lot, what with his signing on as the creative director of HuhWhat&Where and, oh right, this brand-new EP with Kit Pop as HWLS. Across their self-titled project, the two blend many of the elements that we’ve come to expect from them—booming bass, immersive synths, and altogether-huge beats.
These guys can make pretty music—just listen to opener “001”—but they’re in their zone when crafting TNGHT-esque bangers like “003” and “004,” the latter of which features Philly artist Noah Breakfast. What I’m trying to say here is that you should play this as loud as possible, but don’t be surprised if your neighbors and/or coworkers complain. Who knows, they may just want to know who you’re listening to.
You can stream the EP below and cop it on Bandcamp.
