I don’t know about you, but I’m still playing the hell out of that New Jack Kings project by T. Calmese (formerly known as Illite) and Vaughan T. The combination of their slick, sometimes-smooth, sometimes-witty rhymes with the New Jack Swing-sampling beats makes for an extremely addictive listen. I especially dig how it’s more than just your standard mixtape or free album as it sets out to tell a story of their and others’ love of the New Jack Swing era. But for this post, it’s all about highlighting a brand new cut from T. Calmese, who premiered “Worldwide” last night. The raucous production sets the tone for his quick-and-to-the-point bars, which perfectly suit the beat. I’m hoping this is the first of many new tracks we have from Calmese, especially if he has another project with Vaughan T in the works.
