T. Calmese – “Trust Me” P. Nick Speed [Video]

What more can I say about the greatness that is Detroit hip-hop? Seriously. It seems like every hip-hop act that comes from the Motor City or somewhere near it is right up my alley, be it J Dilla, Black Milk, Danny Brown, Self Says, or, in this case, T. Calmese. If you have been to Potholes in the past year, you know that I’ve been pushing Calmese‘s stuff pretty hard as I feel like dude deserves a whole hell a lot more attention. Not only are his lyrics honest and intriguing, but he has a pretty damn good ear for beats. Here, on “Trust Me”, he spits over a raw beat from Nick Speed, a producer who seems to be gaining more momentum lately. Anyway, Calmese’s A Will of Fortune is due out soon.
