Stream Tuxedo’s Self-Titled Album In Its Entirety

Tuxedo albumWe previously featured Tuxedo duo Mayer Hawthorne and Jake One‘s Snoop Dogg inspired single “Number One”, off their forthcoming self-titled album which is set to be released next Tuesday. Jake One has been one of the best producers in hip-hop for a really long time, producing for Chance The Rapper, Rick Ross, 50 Cent, De La Soul and everyone in between.

Mayer Hawthorne’s solo career started on Stones Throw, so it’s fitting to see this new collaborative album back where it all started. As Tuxedo, Jake One provides the West Coast funk, coupled with Mayer Hawthorne’s smooth falsetto. That combination will remind you sonically of all the post-disco and funk from the 80’s with groups like Kool & The Gang, Shalamar, Heatwave and The Whispers.

The new Tuxedo album is jam-packed with party records, but don’t take my word for it, you can head over to NPR to stream the album in its entirety right now. Tuxedo’s new album drops March 3rd on Stones Throw Records. You can pre-order it digitally on iTunes, Amazon & Google Play. Vinyl and CD available at and an indie-retailer near you next week.

Tuxedo also recently put together a A Valentine’s Day mixtape of 80’s boogie slow jams, which you can stream and download below.
