Stream Stan Ipcus’ ‘Local Legend’ In Its Entirety

stan-ipcus-local-legendMy friendship with rapper/hip-hop journalist Stan Ipcus goes back to when we worked together at Complex for about a year or so. We formed a strong bond as two slightly older dudes with a penchant for underground hip-hop and, here and there, he mentioned that he was also a part-time rapper. He never really got into any of his stories, like this awesome tale of his run-in with Kanye West, but he began sharing his music in bits and pieces and I had to say I was impressed.

Here’s a guy who took his love for music in varying directions but never, ever really gassed himself about it. He just did what he did because he loved it. And for me, that made listening to his songs, which he’s now compiled into a proper LP in Local Legend, that much more enjoyable. “Clark Griswold” is probably my favorite on here along with “How I Met Your Mother“, so make sure you at least listen to those. Oh, and “Wifey Material”, too. That beat is too fresh.

You can stream the album below and buy it on Amazon. [via]

As a bonus, you can check out his interview with another one of my rap writing homies, Dharmic X.
