When it comes to posthumous releases by J Dilla, I tend to favor the ones that are made up entirely of his own music. By that I mean no one else has been tacked on to the tracks or anything outside of what he had accomplished prior to his passing. Sure, I dug some moments on that Yancey Boys album, but I’m a purist. And with that in mind, I’m happy to see (and hear) that his previously vinly-only posthumous release, Dillatroit, has made its way to the digital realm. The fine folks at DJ Booth got the jump on the stream, which I highly suggest giving a listen. It includes two bonus tracks from that Lost Scrolls EP.
