It was yesterday that the German producer IAMNOBODI dropped off his anticipated debut album, Elevated, through the burgeoning Soulection label, and it was yesterday that he solidified himself as an individual not only to look out for, but to listen to at all costs.
What Elevated represents, at least sonically, is an obviously thought-out, well-developed exploration into rare auricular depths. Its embodied elements, ranging from smooth and sincere synths, to punchy bass, to organic percussion and vocal sampling, insist upon an exotic aural taste that manages to evade the snare of any specific genre.
It would be foolish for us not to credit the sound with any influence, though, and it is apparent that an amalgam of acoustic lanes including electronic, jazz, house, hip-hop, and funk have all helped shape the sound that IAMNOBODI has championed, if not strictly pioneered. But it’s the producer’s robust concoction of all the above, and then some, that have vaulted him, and his craft, into immediate relevance that you ought to be a part of.
