Stop For A Second To Let It Marinate: An Interview With Iman Omari

Droppin’ Knowledge continued their tradition of bringing bright rising talent to Toronto. With successful showcases including Action Bronson, Fashawn, Rittz and more, the latest artist headline to headline the monthly hip-hop showcase was West Coast artist Iman Omari.

I received call from a friend, who was also one of the openers, asking if I wanted to speak with the Los Angeles-bred artist. Not being the one to pass up an opportunity, I told him I’d do it and in less than 12 hours, I was in a Thai restaurant with him and Kit Knows talking about Toronto pizza vs. New York pizza, the L.A. beat scene, Iman’s creative process, his move from L.A. to New York and a whole lot more.
