It’s always interesting to see where artists find their inspirations, especially someone like Star Slinger whose sound touches on so many different things. His music falls somewhere in the boundaries between a variety of genres, which are all on full display with his installment of the mix series for Altered Zones. The 70-minute mix jumps from straight up hip-hop with Bone Thugs-N-Harmony and Big K.R.I.T., to the blistering footwork of Chrissy Murderbot, to Machinedrum and Guido. It’s even got a few of his remixes peppered in there for good keeping. Be sure to check out Star Slinger as he comes stateside with Mux Mool and Shlohmo in the coming weeks.
