Smoke DZA – “The Early Days of George” p. Hi-Tek

What’s this, a song produced by Hi-Tek that I actually enjoy? Yeah, I said it, and Revolutions Per Minute was subpar to say the least. With “The Early Days of George” it has become evident that Talib Kweli just doesn’t quite hack it anymore. And as long as Hi-Tek teams up with fresh and skillful emcees like Smoke DZA, he is going to stay in this game for a long time to come. I would assume that a track like this would appear on DZA’s upcoming album, but I really can’t say at this point. Stream here or download after the skip.

  1. This track is really, really good. DZA’s becoming one of my favorite MCs as of late…

  2. George Kush came with it! The song is dope, but I’m SMH @ Revolutions Per Minute being subpar. The bad part is, I can’t say you’re lying. I think the only mistake they made is one that cost them dearly. They stopped f**king with each other too long, and that’s what killed the magic. Fact is, we waited so long, many people stopped caring. Reflections is still one of my fav. groups and I’d like to see them try it one more time. Might be a better, more cohesive vibe. Props on the post!
