Los Angeles producer sleepyeyes‘ songs have always struck me as tidbits of very intricate compositions. It is what he is able to musically stuff within such little time he limits himself to is what really makes his music fascinating to me. After a decent run distributing his own beat tapes on bandcamp, sleepyeyes releases his latest cassette Merkaba via the fairly-new label Hex Tapes. The aura that resonates from the twenty tracks is zen-like I tell you, which is probably why I kept in arm’s reach for close to about a week now.
