I’m having one of those “What the actual fuck just crawled across my Soundcloud” moments, as I’m scurrying across the Internet to find more information about the rap group Sinartistix. Here’s what I’ve gathered: Sinartistix is a rap group based in Munich, Germany made up of three members: Leoquentz and The Mighty O, who rap in German and English respectively, and Juicy Jane (LOL) on vocals. The group has released one single prior to the Startin’ Six EP and their major influences are Curren$y, Wu-Tang Clan, Nas, DJ Premier, and Lauryn Hill.
If at this point, you’ve already given up on this post because you got a red flag after reading “rap group based in Munich, Germany,” stay with me. The group fuses R&B and rap in a surprisingly relevant way for three German folks in an American dominated rap scene. This is a wickedly enjoyable six-track EP, a huge considering this is their first ever project. Granted, some of it is cheesy (re: “Flow Overdoze”), but after I heard “Chicken Wings” I was hooked.
