When an artist is both young and prolific, it feels like you’re not simply enjoying the slew of music he or she produces. You feel like you’re experiencing the artist’s life as it happens. At least, that’s the case with 19-year-old beatsmith Shag, who seems to drop a new batch of instrumentals every month. His latest is Beats About People, a 10-track journey through the mind of a teen who, as he wrote on his Bandcamp, just moved into his own apartment and is getting used to living his own life. That mentality certainly apparent on here, as is his penchant for blending samples with ease.
