Shad – “Fam Jam (Fe Sum Immigrins)” [Video]

shad-fam-jam-videoShad‘s shown love for his family and heritage over the years in a number of ways, including the fantastic “A Good Name” off his 2010 album TSOL. But he’s never done it with quite the mainstream flair of “Fam Jam (Fe Sum Immigrins)”. It’s the feel-good new single from his fourth full-length, Flying Colours, which is due out Oct. 15.

The track features brassy, hand clap-laden production by Skratch Bastid and a sample of “Not bad, huh, for some immigrants” from Jay Z and Kanye West‘s “Otis”. It also boasts a complementary video, which depicts Shad, a goofy older version of himself, and a gang of folks just having a good ol’ time at a family party. Some of y’all might think it’s corny, but what’s wrong with being sincere and proud of who you are? Nothin’.

You can watch the video below and buy the single on Amazon.
