SBTRKT’s self-titled debut, thankfully, more than lived up to it’s expectations. As it turns out, the UK producer is not only an incredible DJ, but a pretty good live act too. The “Up & Down” track is a live jam recorded with frequent collaborator and vocalist Sampha. This only continues my notion that as musicians, the pair were basically made for each other as Sampha’s falsetto voice glides over the slick percussion from the masked producer. Fingers crossed this track gets some kind of an official release, and that he takes this live show on some stops in the states.
