Sapient – “Shotgun In My Spaceship” [Video]

When Sapient announced and released his instrumental record, Tusk!, he mentioned it was the first in the Eaters series. With fans already knowing the next tape wouldn’t fall under the hip-hop category, the Sandpeoples representative decided to give fans a look into Slump‘s first single. Inspired by rock and pop, “Shotgun In My Spaceship” is a step away from Sape’s raps but we all know dude can sing and that’s exactly what he does on this lighthearted love story.

After speaking with him back in May, I was told a few things you should note about Slump. It won’t feature any rapping, there will be no samples, and Sape’ calls it his “rock record”. But the few who heard it disagree, and his attempt to label it indie rock failed. Check out the music video and the curiosity alone should force you to listen when Slump drops Feb. 19.

  1. yea this is incredible. He was on point a couple years ago and was one of my favorite artists. This has completely put him in a new and higher light for me. Even bigger fan now. Highly anticipating this album. Gonna have to pre-order just so it doesn’t slip under my radar in a few months.

  2. Can’t wait for this record! Good post potholes!
