There’s something refreshing about when veteran musicians adopt a more current and albeit popular sound, while still retaining what made them respected in the first place. You can somewhat see this in Dizzee Rascal; he’s achieved massive fame, but he’s still Boy In Da Corner for a lot of people. Here, veteran emcee Roots Manuva unleashes his newest single “Get the Get”. It features the U.K. rhymer over a club-ready beat with chant-able hook and all. It’s different from what got me listening to Roots Manuva to begin with on New Secondhand, but this infectious single is no letdown.
