Rome Fortune – “Trap Pop”

rome fortune

Rome Fortune won Potholes’ heart with his February-released free album, Beautiful Pimp II. Armed with an unmatched drive and passionate desire to extend the confines of his comfort zone, Rome has already begun to stir up excitement for yet another forthcoming project – this one with producer Dun Deal.

“Trap Pop” comes on the heels of Kevin Gates’ By Any Means album, which included the same beat used in its song, “Stop Lyin'”. Fortune decided to liberate his original version anyway, and we do not fault him for his actions. Rome employs his signature cadences over production that differs greatly from the work of CitoOnTheBeat, who orchestrated the entirety of BPII. In place of wide-panned atmospherics and spacial synthesizers are fittingly pop chord progressions and 808 drum kicks.
