If there’s one thing I’ll never tire of, it’s a new record from Atlanta’s Rome Fortune. The rhapsodic rapper released the first official prelude to his forthcoming EP, The Drives, Thighs & Lies, in today’s “Damn Good, Damn Different”. Dun Deal (the beat maker behind some of Young Thug’s most notable internet hits) will produce the entirety of that project, and thus delivers the instrumentation for this single, what with its key-rattling drums and interspersed synths.
Per usual, Fortune hones his bars over a backdrop that certainly qualifies as “damn different.” Though the chemistry he and Deal share fails to match that existent between Fortune and CitoOnTheBeat (the mastermind behind Rome’s Beautiful Pimp II release), I’m looking forward to hearing more from the newly paired team.
