With a tour on deck, and Black Radio already months behind us, Robert Glasper is heavily promoting his exciting new work, Black Radio Recovered: The Remix EP. We have shed light on a number of remixes, but this is perhaps the most exciting of them all. Glasper himself takes to the original recording along with Jewels, throwing in some rather crafty drum chops that perhaps didn’t fit in the first time around.
The song concludes with a Dilla-esque outro, followed up by a voicemail from none other than J Dilla’s mother, Ma Dukes. The remix EP is also set to round things up with a track called “Dillalude”, which I assume is what that nifty voicemail is hinting at. Robert Glasper is no stranger to the work of James Yancey, as he covered some of his work on his 2007 album In My Element by way of “J Dillalude”. [via]
