Anchoring is a cognitive bias in which the first piece of information you’re provided with about something can affect your future decision-making and thought process about that “something.” With that said, Rimar, an Ohio producer can fit into this alternative R&B mold that’s slowly solidifying. The sound on his album Higher Ground is something I’ll describe as the Weeknd and How To Dress Well’s laptop-crooning thrown in a pot with the sound of 18 Carat Affair. There’s also a guest appearance from a sped-up version of AZ’s verse on “Life’s A Bitch”, for what it’s worth.
