It was a normal day for Ras G, making beats, smoking green, the usual. Midway through producing this beat, Ras got word that friend General Black was being taken off life support. Ras did what Ras does by reflecting on the passing with a tear, a smile, and a blunt, until he came to peace with it all. Afterwards, he put the finishing touches on the beat, which became a tribute to his friend, “Uno 4 General Black”. It’s the classic Dilla-inspired vintage-sampling future space production we’ve come to expect from the beat astronaut, but with a hell of a back story to match.
