Generic is the last thing is what I would call this album. And Cole World>Friday Night Lights. Fight me if you disagree.

This album could have been a classic. I say “Lights Please” definitely still fits but after several listens I wish he didn’t put “In The Morning” on. The album has enough great lyricism and overall quality songwriting to be a classic but its really “Mr. Nice Watch” and “Work Out” that doomed it. I mean tracks like “Sideline Story,” “Nobody’s Perfect,” and “Lost Ones” are what classic albums are made of. And “Never Told” is NOT a Drake-like song. I have no idea where that reference comes from.

Unfortunately Fayetteville has awful crime and violence problems, hence the moniker Fayettenam. Otherwise good review.

I have to say that The Warm Up is still Cole’s best drop to date. Tracks that came out after that (Premeditated Murder comes to mind) were also dope. This album was a mixed bag of good, generic, and “classic cole”. Overall it’s a good album, but it could have been a great album.

Good album, but could have been better, Like the review said, it appealed to both “nerds” and “dummies”, but he could have done way better. Cole is insane, but he shouldn’t dumb it down.
