Listen: Rabit and Riko Dan Connect For “Black Dragon”

riko-danWiley, Dizzee Rascal and Tinchy Stryder may have all graduated from the sprawling Roll Deep Crew with honours, but you’d be hard pushed to name much output from the rest. (Manga has kept his name burning with various mixtapes of late and Trim popped up on Paul White’s Watch The Ants EP last year.) Still, it’s always a welcome surprise to see an erstwhile member of the collective come seemingly out of nowhere. Here, Houston producer Rabit‘s claustrophobic “Black Dragon,” which featured on last year’s Double Dragon EP, is updated with mean-mug bars from Riko Dan. Given how faithfully Rabit adheres to the grime template, there’s little surprise Riko sounds right at home here. This refix is to be released with a video on Oct. 6.

And you can expect more from the London MC soon. He is due to appear on the debut LP from New York genre manipulators Future Brown, which will drop on Warp Records. Listen to “Black Dragon” below. [via]
