I don’t know about you, but I was certainly hoping that the duo of Qwel & Maker was going to get back in the studio for a follow-up to last year’s So Be It. And, sure enough, my wish came true as the slightly abstract rapper and producer are bringing us Owl, their third album together, in two weeks. Here we have the first leak, “El Camino”, which floats gorgeously as you take a laid-back drive down nostalgia boulevard. It’s a great choice for a lead single, even if it’s a bit subdued, and hopefully (there I go, hoping again) will gain these two even more fans in the near future.
You can stream “El Camino” below and download the track after the jump.

You have no idea how happy this post makes me. My love for hip-hop can almost all be traced back to Typical Cats. Despite the huge variety of music on here, I was starting to lose hope in seeing anything from Typical Cats or Qwel & Maker. Thank you.
I’m gonna go out on a limb and say Qwel has been listening to a a LOT of Nas lately.
This was way more smoothed-out than I was expecting and that’s a good thing. Verses were all solid, this was an excellent track.
