Last week, we reported that Pusha T‘s proper debut, My Name Is My Name, was on pace to move 75,000 to 80,000 units in its first week. And now, we have the final numbers for the record and they’re pretty damn close to those projections. According to Hits Daily Double, King Push was able to, well, push 74,610 copies of his first full-length album. That might not seem like much, but it’s miles ahead of what he and (No) Malice did as the Clipse with Til The Casket Drops, which did a depressing 31,000 copies when it debuted. Also, that amount was enough to best Big Sean, whose Hall of Fame album only sold 72,000 in its first week.
And how about Danny Brown, who also released a new album last week in Old? HDD reports that he sold 15,048 copies of his first proper retail album. I was personally hoping for more for Danny, especially considering how much I enjoyed that album, but I’m thinking he’ll get steady sales moving forward as new audiences discover his music.
You can buy MNIMN on Amazon and you can also buy Old on Amazon.

15k? Ahh man that’s disappointing, bruh been grinding for so long, he deserved at least 25k 🙁
Happy for Danny
Happy for Pusha. I picked it up off itunes. I illegally DLed Big Sean first to see how the record was, and while i dug a hand full of tracks, it is NOT worth thr $15 its going for on all the electronic retail spots. WHY its so much is beyond me.
I also picked up Danny Browns record via Itunes and im glad i supported, and im happy for him and his sales. While he is pretty popular, transalting that into sales as an indie dude who is far more complex and intricate than someone like A$AP Rocky is hard. SO 15,000+ is awesome..because like you said..it will grow over 12 mos and hopefully reach 6figures.
