Daedelus is a pretty crazy guy. If you’ve ever seen his live show you know this. If you haven’t, it’s him flailing around on his monome while he mixes together his equally insane beats. Purity Ring’s “Cartographist” is a dark and lurching piece of electronic music, but put into the hands of an evil beat scientist it’s something entirely different. He says on his Soundcloud, “I’ve messed up a perfectly wonderful song,” which I guess he did in theory, but in a strangely pleasing remix that takes Purity Ring a few steps closer to a dimly lit club banger.
